New York Misses X-Ball Team CaptainsResidents Wave Goodbye Feebly From Twin Towers | |
|
New York really misses the X-Ball captains, and hopes they're not strangers and come back to visit real soon. "I remember the wonderful times we spent together," said Martin Resnick, a Hot Dog Vendor. "The long walks we used to take, the loving look in their eyes. I know I never really got within a hundred feet of them, but we had a connection. A serious one. Hot dog?" Mayor Giuliani, normally a stalwart non-emotional alpha male, was reduced to tears by the thought of a life without the X-Ball captains. Then he was reminded about the massive amounts of destruction and looting caused by their visit, and cried some more. Residents' reaction can be summed up best by Eleanor Frisby, a Queens resident: "New York was so exciting when they were here. It wasn't just five boroughs, it was New York, an exciting place to live. Now, with them gone, what are we supposed to do? Frankly, I'm bored. New York is boring. Hey, and where can a lady get a hot dog around here?"
