"I am the King of Kings" says Gridiron

After a grueling 11-hour tournament of the ancient game of checkers, the Monkeys Who Play Sports emerged victorious against the Extreme Snowmen.

Originally started to stave off despair in the face of the bleakness and isolation of space, the checkers tournament quickly took on a life of its own. "I mean, it was just supposed to be a bit of fun," said Redd. "But it soon became an all-out battle for supremacy. I didn't think Coolboard would keep it together."

Unfortunately, Coolboard Luke didn't, flipping out during his semifinal match against Links. Melting profusely, he threw the checkers board against the wall of the Hospital Rec Room yelling "Monkeys Who Play Checkers!" over and over before running out of the room.

Gridiron played against Snowmen champion Pipsqueak in the three-hour final game. They both played hard and smart, with Gridiron employing the Algerian Gamble in his endgame. Pipsqueak rallied his defense, but to no avail. Pipsqueak and Gridiron shook hands, and then went to find Coolboard who was cowering in a broom closet.

The two teams agreed to play again next year, same time.
