New X-Ball Season To Be Played In Space "Coolest ever," say fans | |

| Monster Island, 04.26.01 - Hiro Nakamaji announced today via video that the 2002
season of X-Ball will
be played in space in a specially constructed X-Ball
Space Dome-o-tron
Arena.
Citing recent events, such as the Earth being nearly destroyed by the Hellbeast Invasion, the Nakamaji Corporation decided that it would be safest for all involved if X-Ball be played in the vacuum of space. "In addition," said Nakamaji, speaking before the world press, " the Extreme Snowmen and the Monkeys Who Play Sports are already aimlessly floating around space. And everybody knows it's much cheaper to build and launch a huge X-Ball stadium, surrounded by state-of-the-art satellite cameras and television production facilities, than it would be to send a simple rescue shuttle to pick up our X-Ball players. Obviously." "Besides," said Nakamaji, "we've already gotten several letters from Demons on the Moon who were hoping to catch an X-Ball game. This way we kill two birds with one floating X-Ball Space Dome-o-tron." Nakamaji then turned to a PowerPoint presentation detailing the advantages of the new Space X-Ball. Among them:
Despite the advantages detailed, Nakamaji stressed that, by and large, X-Ball would remain the same game as before. "Not to worry, my earth-bound friends," said Nakamaji, "your beloved X-Ball will be just as much fun as ever. And just as safe, for what it's worth. We have taken every precaution to ensure the safety of our players. There is nothing that can go wrong." Deeply skeptical, the several members of the press wondered how the Giant Black Hole in the middle of the field could ever be considered safe. "Oh, that," said Nakamaji. "Next question, please." The press conference was then briefly halted by the Reptiles 2 Da Maxx bursting into Nakamaji's office before getting sucked into vacuum tubes and jettisoned into the depths of space. Apologizing for the interruption, Nakamaji then asked the world press to join him on Monster Island next week for the launch of the X-Ball itself into space via armored shuttle. "It's going to be a spectacular send-off, let me tell
you," said Nakamaji. "Thank you, and good night."
