| FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT X-BALL | |||||||||
|
What the heck is X-Ball? X-Ball, the most popular sport in the world, watched by over six billion people every week. It's also one of the most violent. And violence is cool. No, really, what is it? Okay, you got me. X-Ball is the creation of two guys from New York City with too much time on their hands. You may recognize them as Bif and Tad, X-Ball Tonite announcers extraordinaire. Are those your real names? No. You get a free t-shirt if you can guess what our names are. E-mail your answer here. So why should I care about X-Ball? Because what X-Ball really is is character based comedy on the web, which, as far as we know doesn't exist. And what does that mean? You sure ask a lot of questions, imaginary faq person. It means that through an ever growing and changing web site, we hope to create a world in which characters grow and change, both major characters and minor ones as well. Eventually, you could find out everything about a character just by clicking back on links. To put it another way, it's like a TV show without all the annoying moving pictures. And with a much larger cast. Oh, so it's not interactive? Actually, this is the second most frequently asked question on this page. Right now, as one of the guys doing this site is very good at graphics, the other at HTML, but neither at anything else (the writing part just sort of happens. Just kidding.), we decided we'd rather post non-interactive content than put up a game that sucks. However, we'll be adding more and more all the time. For example, you can create your own X-Ball Minor League team, and if it's good enough, we'll include it in a game we post on the site. And we will soon be having printable trading cards along with each of the spotlight stories. Also, we're traveling to E3 in May, so you never know what could happen when we shmooze up all the big game developers there. So when do you update content? Good question. We post new content every week. Breaking News is the most frequently updated, pretty much every Wednesday. Once a month, there's a new game. You can find the most recent one on the front page. And every month and a half to two months, we have the aforementioned Spotlight On..., which tells the in depth stories of the different X-Ball Major League players. We also are adding little things all the time. If you want to join our weekly mailing list, e-mail Bif Larkin, or fill out any form on these pages (Tickets, Zombie Cheerleader Application, Minor League Team Submission). Hey, why can't I buy a t-shirt? Actually, we get this one a lot, too. We'll be selling t-shirts starting the end of May or so, when they're ready. We also need to figure out how to seperate the real items for sale from the fake ones. Although if anybody wants to help us produce cheap action figures, be my guest. In the meantime, send us your info, what type of shirt you would like, and we'll try to honor your request first when they're ready. I can't form opinions for myself. How do I know if this site is any good? Well, The Comedy Lab pegged us as Cyber-Trash for two exciting days in April, and Amused.com picked us as one of their featured sites. They also asked we put up this banner linking back to them:
What about my feelings? What about my needs? In time, the only thing you'll need is X-Ball Online. Trust me. Your computer will just ooze love and commitment. | |||||||||
